This is one of my most favorite times of the year. Unforturnately, there have been more and more people that don’t want to acknowledge “Christmas”. Some even act like it is a bad word. They would rather say, “Happy Holidays” or “Season’s Greetings” or some other description of the word CHRISTMAS. It is really sad to me that people would choose to ignore the TRUE GIFT that this time of year represents. Which, by the way, just happens to be the first part of CHRISTmas.
I am a child of GOD and I love to acknowledge the gift that He has so graciously given me. When He sent CHRIST to earth to take my punishment, for my sin, the least that I can do to show my appreciation, is to acknowledge that I am celebrating the love He has for me. We need to remember something: CHRIST is the reason we are celebrating. So when you walk past someone in the store or on the street or even, when you are talking on the phone, don’t be ashamed to wish someone a Merry CHRISTmas.
Don’t be scared that you might “offend” someone by mentioning your savior’s name. They sure don’t mind offending you by taking your rights and privelages away, such as prayer in school, trying to take God’s name out of the pledge to our country’s flag, etc. It is time that we, as fellow believers, stand up for what we know is right. It is up to each and everyone of us, to make sure that our rights aren’t stepped on, because someone else can’t acknowledge what God has done for them.
Here is my thought for the day: If you can’t or won’t believe in what this CHRISTmas holiday is founded upon, (which is that CHRIST came to earth, through a virgin birth, to save you and me from our sins, so that we might have eternal life through HIM and only HIM!) then why would you want to take this CHRISTmas holiday off. If you don’t believe in what the TRUE MEANING of CHRISTmas is, then you should continue to work through this CHRISTmas season. There is no reason for you to take off and celebrate something that you don’t believe in. Oh, but then that would also mean that you would have to work over the EASTER holiday as well. (Because, after all, if you don’t believe that He was born to save you from your sins, then you must also not believe that He DIED as a substitute for your sins, as well.) Here it is, my thought for the day.
I want to wish you a very Merry CHRISTmas!
If I have offended you, I would normally say I was sorry, but I can’t, because I’m not.
As a child of the King, I am thankful for all that acknowledge CHRIST as the reason for the season. For those that can’t acknowledge that fact, all I can say is that I will definately be in prayer for you, before your time on earth has ended.
May GOD pour out His richest blessings on you during this most wonderful season: The season of CHRIST’s birth.
May you and your family experience the TRUE MEANING of CHRISTMAS this year.
